An investigation into alleged mismanagement at Robben Island Museum (RIM) has been completed, in accordance to the museum, and has brought to gentle evidence that could direct to disciplinary motion.
In a statement on Monday, the RIM Council confirmed that it had been furnished with a report.
“The recommendations are nevertheless to be executed, so at this stage in time we can validate that the investigation revealed evidence which sustains a prima facie circumstance for disciplinary methods in relation to one of the allegations,” stated RIM Council chairperson, Khensani Maluleke.

In November 2018, the Ex-Political Prisoners’ Association (EPPA) alleged that there was mismanagement at the RIM.
The RIM Council fixed that it would evaluate and investigate the allegations and tackle even further allegations of mismanagement that had arisen subsequent to the November 2018 allegations.
The council requested the Department of Activity, Arts and Lifestyle to solution the State Lawyer to facilitate the appointment of an unbiased lawful advisor to evaluate and examine the allegations.
In June 2020, that appointment happened in the variety of MacRobert Attorneys.
The Condition Lawyer issued MacRobert Lawyers with the conditions of reference for the investigation commissioned by the RIM Council, reported Maluleke.
