Fairmount Temple won’t renew govt director’s contract | Regional Information

Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple in Beachwood has opted not to renew the deal of executive director Steve Borstein, powerful June 30, 2022.

Borstein, who is likely on his 11th calendar year as executive director at the reform synagogue, explained the surprising news concerning his agreement was broken to him by temple president Todd Silverman a few weeks ago. On April 5, the temple despatched out a congregation-extensive e mail asserting Borstein’s tenure close, signed by Silverman.

“I am not resigning or voluntarily leaving – they’re not renewing my deal,” Borstein, a resident of Mayfield Heights, explained to the Cleveland Jewish Information April 5. “This really considerably came as a surprise.”

Borstein said he was doubtful why his agreement wasn’t renewed and was not sure what his future actions will be.

“Everything’s up in the air,” he explained. “It’s however a little bit of a shock and surprise to me.”

Silverman informed the CJN April 5 that he couldn’t present any extra facts guiding the conclusion made on Borstein’s deal.

Silverman also wrote that strategies will be designed to commemorate “Steve’s years of service” to Fairmount Temple in 2022.
