A male has been identified guilty of 4 murders.
A hitman from Durban’s infamous Glebelands hostel in Umlazi has been identified responsible of murdering four persons.
Senzo Cele, 30, appeared in the KwaZulu-Natal Large Court in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday.
He was arrested in 2018 in link with the murders of four persons, who ended up gunned down at the hostel and the KwaMnyandu Taxi Rank.
In the latest years, the hostel has been connected to political killings in the province.
“The investigation led to the arrest of the accused. All through his arrest in 2018, the accused was discovered in possession of a pistol with 35 rounds of ammunition. He produced various courtroom appearances and was observed responsible,” stated provincial police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele.
Cele was also identified responsible of getting in possession of a prohibited firearm and possession of ammunition.
He will be sentenced on Tuesday.
“This is a victory for us and we are hoping a harsher sentence will be handed down in courtroom,” reported the acting KZN police commissioner Big-General Thulani Gonya.
